This historical Skat deck by Bielefelder Spielkarten brings together two important names in German Skat history. Its advertising back for the Deutscher Skatverband e.V. (German Skat Association), based in Bielefeld at the time, makes the deck an interesting document of organised Skat culture in post-war Germany.
The Deutscher Skatverband resumed its activities after the Second World War in 1950, with Bielefeld becoming its official headquarters in 1954. This places the deck within an important period in the development of organised Skat in West Germany.
