This Gaigel / Binokel card deck represents a long-standing regional card-playing tradition in southern Germany. Played with a double pack of 2×24 cards in the Württemberg pattern, it was a familiar part of social life in taverns, clubs, and private gatherings.
Manufactured in Altenburg (Thuringia)—one of the most important centers of German playing card production—this set is today an authentic historical artifact. An original single piece that preserves both gaming and cultural history in a compact form.
