In the 1920s, Spanish-suited playing cards were widely used far beyond the Iberian Peninsula. They were played in cafés, salons, and private gatherings, representing sociability, strategy, and refined visual design. This original 48-card deck reflects that tradition, combining southern European card culture with high-quality print craftsmanship.

Designed by Leonard Biermans in the so-called “Spanish pattern” and produced using fine offset printing, this deck stands as a representative example of the graphic elegance of the interwar period.
