A classic playing card set from the West German post-war period.
This double deck produced by the Altenburger playing card factories features the traditional Kaiserkarte image series, one of the most recognizable historical card designs from Altenburg.
The original Kaiserkarte artwork was first introduced around 1906–1910 and remained in production through several print phases during the early 20th century. In the early 1960s, Altenburger Spielkartenfabriken revived this historic design as a faithful reprint, bringing the elegant, baroque-style court cards back into circulation for modern card players.
This set combines the classic Kaiserkarte double deck with a decorative wooden storage box typical of the 1960s, reflecting the living-room gaming culture of that period.
