Vintage quartet game “Native Culinary Herbs” – Peterspiel DDR, 1988
A carefully illustrated educational card game from the GDR era: the quartet “Native Culinary Herbs” was published in 1988 by Verlag für Lehrmittel Pößneck and produced by Altenburger Spielkarten. It is part of the well-known Peterspiel series, designed to introduce children to nature and environmental knowledge in a playful way.
The set consists of 24 cards featuring colorful illustrations of typical culinary herbs such as parsley, dill, chives, and tarragon – complemented by a “Peter card” (the special quartet joker card). Each card includes brief informational text about the respective plant.
