A beautiful vintage wooden playing card box from the 1950s, decorated with burned-in card suit symbols (hearts, diamonds, spades and clubs). The box (approx. 11.5 × 6.5 × 7.5 cm) features a hinged lid and a divided interior.
Inside are two original Rummy playing card decks produced by the United Altenburg and Stralsund Playing Card Factories AG (ASS), Leinfelden near Stuttgart.
Each deck contains 52 cards + 3 jokers (in total 2 × 52 cards and 6 jokers).
The cards feature a classic French suit design with clubs, spades, hearts and diamonds.
One deck is still factory sealed (new / unused).
One deck is opened but remains unplayed.
The two decks have contrasting card backs (red and blue), decorated with an elegant floral pattern.
The original game instructions are also included.
The cards are versatile and suitable for many classic games such as Rummy, Bridge, Poker, Canasta, Whist and many others.
