Vintage Skat Card Set, Altenburg COEUR Playing Cards, French Suit, Wooden Box with Roe Deer Design, East Germany DDR, 1970s

In the 1970s, COEUR playing cards from Altenburg and finely crafted wooden silhouette boxes by C.H. Walther were an integral part of everyday gaming culture in the GDR.
Both elements of this set originate from that period and complement each other perfectly – an authentic piece of East German cultural and craftsmanship history.

• Condition: near mint, complete, with slight original card gloss

• Manufacturer: C.H. Walther

• Motif: roe deer in forest with “Skat” lettering in silhouette cut design

• Label on underside: “Original Silhouette Cut – C.H. Walther – EVP M”

• Material: light lacquered wood with brass hinges

• Size: approx. 11.8 × 8.4 × 3.4 cm

• Condition: very well preserved with authentic patina
