Two complete, unplayed decks – each with 52 cards plus 3 jokers – are housed in a high-quality wooden box, decorated with the classic suit symbols (hearts, spades, clubs, diamonds), reflecting the clear and functional design language of the DDR era.
The wooden box is in exceptionally well-preserved condition, stable and carefully maintained, with four red-accented wooden feet that give it a subtle decorative presence.
The cards feature a traditional French-suited design in strong, vibrant colors with high-quality printing. Particularly striking is the floral brown-and-white back design with fine ornamental lines – elegant, timeless, and clearly recognizable as Altenburg production. The COEUR stamp on the Ace of Hearts confirms its original DDR origin.
